The Maldives is composed of 26 coral atolls in the Indian Ocean southwest of India and Sri Lanka. Each islet is surrounded by tropical beaches, picturesque lagoons, and a rich and exciting aquatic life.
A liveaboard vessel offers the best way to explore these great waters. The Family orientated MV Princess Dhonkamana Maldives schedules year-round liveaboard diving safaris, always visiting the best atolls for the time of year.
Non-divers, single travelers, and children are equally welcome on our dive vessel. All 18 passengers will experience an unforgettable holiday week with plenty to see and do.
The wooden luxury yacht has nine quarters for her guests. All rooms are large, comfortable, and tastefully decorated with an Italian touch.
All have private bathrooms, with hot and cold water shower, air conditioning, wardrobes, and four-poster beds for maximum privacy in case of cabin sharing.
There is a choice of romantic double cabins, twin beds for friends and solo guests, cabins with large double beds, and a third single bed, ideal for families. Cabins on the upper deck have windows for ocean views.
A crew of 13 speaks English and Italian and offers extremely attentive hotel service. Guests can rewind and dine in several indoor and outdoor leisure areas, including three sun decks.
The lounge is the designated place for entertainment in climatized and colorful atmospheres. It features a bar, internet Wi-Fi, TV, computers, and a library. You can enjoy Therapeutic massages or work on your tan at the sun loungers.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are a mix of Italian and local cuisine. Meals are served as a buffet al fresco in the sheltered outdoor dining area. Our chefs will cook fresh bread, pizzas, and delicatessen worthy of great Italian restaurants.
The bar sells a selection of soft drinks and alcohols. Vegetarian and other dietary restrictions can be catered for if the Princess Dhonkamana Maldives is notified in advance.
Divers of all levels are welcome on Princess Dhonkamana Maldives. Children and those who have never done scuba diving before can come to snorkel and enjoy a ‘try dive’ for free. European PADI instructors will be your guides.
We use a tender vessel to store diving equipment and transport guests to and from dive sites. Each day there are two dive opportunities and 1-night dive during the week. These fantastic and secure underwater adventures provide possible unique interactions with mantas, whale sharks, and dolphins.
Rental gear and nitrox are available. Optional activities include island excursions, beach fun, surfing, and fishing.

Dive into the Indian ocean with Princess Dhonkamana on a week-long liveaboard cruise around the Maldives' Central Atolls.
It is the aim to show you the most beautiful dive spots in the Maldives. The itineraries are flexible and are designed day by day depending on what you want to see. To do this, it is necessary to adapt our routes according to the season, available time, and current weather reports. That is why Princess Dhonkamana, Princess Handy, and Princess Rani do not follow fixed routes but rather tailor each safari route to make the best possible trip.
Please trust the experienced crews to choose the right route; the crew has years of experience in service, and they know how to make the most out of each cruise. At the start of each safari, a rough route will be confirmed, followed by daily briefings on what specific dive sites will be visited. Before each dive, you will be thoroughly briefed and shown a map of the dive site.
Atolls visited include North Male, South Male, Ari Atoll, and Felidu Atoll.
Check-in: From 11 am up until 11 pm (airport transfers after 1 pm will incur a 50EUR surcharge per person).
Check Out: Morning 7:00 am (breakfast will be provided).
All clients are going to Macana boats and arriving independently at the airport to be at the meeting point at 9:30 AM.
Marine Life: Large pelagic fish (sharks, eagles, rays, tuna), turtles, reef fish, butterfly, tropical corvine, groupers, skates, and napoleon fish.
The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip at around 9 am. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.
PLEASE NOTE: Should the minimum number of guests guarantee this departure not be reached, the operator might rebook the guests to their sister boat with the same quality standards and the same itinerary.
