Indonesia’s largest fleet of luxury liveaboard vessels is called Sea Safari Cruises. The KLM Sea Safari 8 is part of this successful Indonesian shipping company. With all their local knowledge and national pride, they are able to organize the most intense adventure cruises around. Embark on one of their schooners and be sure to have a ‘ whale of a time ’. The ship was built in 2003 and gets modernized on a yearly basis. Its length is 35 meters with a beam of 10 meters. The multi-lingual crew consists of 20 people. Among them are 5 scuba professionals. Homeport is Sorong, West Papua and destinations lie in the great periphery of Raja Ampat.

ACCOMMODATION

Our ship has 12 cabins divided over 2 decks, with a maximum capacity of 27 passengers. Each room has a private bathroom with shower, separate hand basin, and air-conditioning. The middle deck has 4 cabins with a double bed, windows and doors giving direct access to the outdoor gangway. The lower deck has 4 cabins with double beds, 2 cabins with a twin setup, 1 cabin with both a single and a double bed and 1 cabin with 4 single bunk beds. These cabins have portholes for fresh air and daylight.

COMFORT

The indoor saloon is a magnificent relaxing area, very much what you expect on a luxury yacht. You can watch a movie, play games, read a book or simply have a drink with your fellow divers. Also indoors are the roomy restaurant and a camera preparation area. Outside common areas include an après-dive sundeck and a shaded leisure deck with a bar.

CATERING

Sea air and diving will make you go hungry. Our chefs make sure you will be nourished with tasty and healthy food. Our meals are served as appetizing buffets with local and western dishes, you can eat as much as you want. Fresh fish and vegetarian plates are served frequently. Wine and beer can be obtained from our bars.

DIVING

Aquatic life doesn’t get more bio-diverse and fertile than in Raja Ampat. Here you may have occasional encounters with dolphins, manta rays, turtles, whales, and countless other interesting life forms. Diving and snorkelling in these waters is a mind-blowing experience. Our diving deck has all the amenities to guarantee a hassle-free underwater adventure, regardless if you are snorkeler or tech diver.

ITINERARIES

These are example itineraries to give you an indication of the liveaboard cruises. The final cruise might be different due to weather, sea conditions and/or guest experience. The final call is always with the boat manager and the captain of the liveaboard. This to ensure your safety as well as to give you a dive holiday never to forget.

Manokwari
    • Departure Port: Manokwari
    • Return Port: Manokwari
    • Length: 6 Days / 5 Nights (Approximately 18 dives in total)
    • Experience level: Cenderawasih region is a remarkable dive destination for large animals, small animals, beautiful reefs bursting with life, and historical WWII wrecks.

    Day 1: 
    Safety Briefing, Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbour. During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable.

    Day 2:.
    Cenderawasih Bay reveal a great diversity of diving and a real sense of the pioneer spirit of going where few others dare. Cenderawasih’s marine diversity has earned it the name “The Galapagos of Indonesia’s reefs”. As an indicator of biodiversity, the bay has 4 species of turtle: green, hawksbill, Pacific ridley and leatherback, as well as much sought-after marine mammals such as dolphins and dugongs.
    In Cenderawasih Bay the main highlight is the presence of numerous whale sharks. Offer you the unique opportunity of spending hours diving or snorkelling with multiple Whale Sharks, Here the Whale Sharks gather together below fishing platforms, dining on the small fry that slip out of the fishing nets or are otherwise discarded by the fishermen.
    Some of the photographic opportunities such behaviour offers to scuba divers are stunning. Imagine several whale sharks in your field of vision, from small juvenile to colossal mature adult, some hanging vertically in the water to access the fry near the surface. Spectacular!
    There is no shortage of fascinating dive sites for those who prefer to nose around the substrate for the minute and marvellous. Cenderawasih also has its fair share of excellent macro with pygmies, tiger prawns, nudibranchs and sea snakes giving divers plenty of smaller stuff to marvel at.

Sorong- Raja Ampat

    • Experience level: Diving in Raja Ampat is exceptional, not just for its species count, but also its totally undisturbed and unspoilt condition.

    Sample Itinerary:
    This itinerary offers a variety of underwater experiences including a spattering of wrecks in the north, some world class muck diving sites in the south, Attractions include gin-clear waters, patch reefs and coral bommies, spectacular wall dives on impossible drop-offs. While scuba diving, you will find wobbegong, dolphins, manta rays, turtles, whales, nudibranchs, lionfish, sea dragons, giant trevallies and so much more.

    Day 2: We explore around the limestone isle of Penemu, each snorkel revealing a brilliant spectrum hidden beneath the sea surface, from nudibranchs, frogfish soft corals and schooling snappers. In the afternoon, when it’s cooler, we will trek to the well known viewpoint on Penemu island.
    Southern Itinerary Missol
    We will spend 2 days in Missol area. This unique area of Raja Ampat is home to an abundance of marine life. We will visit well known sites such as Boo’s Window, Daram, Eagle Rock, Nudibranch Rock, Fiabachet.
    Some of the finest snorkeling in the world, with brightly colored soft corals and huge Gorgonian sea fans Plenty of excursions in the speed boats to secluded lagoons and hidden areas of natural beauty. Incredible rock formations and trekking to the cave of Tomolol on Missol island.

    Day 3: Located at the most northern point of Raja Ampat, Wayag is spectacular. Weather permitting you will see one of the finest sunrises in the world. After breakfast we will trek to the top of the highest point and witness the beauty of the island formations.
    We spend all day in this area that has recently been noted as a nursery for baby Manta Rays. The shallow coastal waters also offer exceptional snorkeling.

    Day 4:
    We cross the equator on our way toKawe Island. Enjoy some of the best coral reefs in Raja Ampat with a full day of snorkeling.

    Southern Itinerary Penemu Island
    We explore around the limestone isle of Penemu, each snorkel revealing a brilliant spectrum hidden beneath the sea surface, from nudibranchs, frogfish soft corals and schooling snappers. In the afternoon, when it’s cooler, we will trek to the well known viewpoint on Penemu island.

    Day 5:
    Northern Itinerary Aljui – Today, we take a tour to explore Pearl Farm headquarter to see the process of pearl formation and you will have the opportunity to purchase some pearls as a gift direct from the farm at special rates.
    This area also offers some very unique snorkeling around the farm pier and some of the long channels that cut through the limestone rock.

    Day 6 – 7:
    Northern Itinerary Arborek – You will spend two days here;
    Arborek is a beautiful small island. Close to this area is Manta Sandy, we will spend as much time as possible snorkeling or diving with Manta Rays. This is a well known cleaning station and feeding ground, attracting these huge and graceful animals in large numbers.
    You are sure to have an unforgettable experience here. In the afternoon we will pay a visit to the island to explore the village and meet the very friendly locals.

    Southern Itinerary Swing kirai
    You will spend two days here. Early the morning, we will go ashore to visit Swing Kirai Island where you can observe many types of exotic birds. After a short trek along a jungle path we will settle in at a small patch in the forest where hopefully we will find the Red Bird of Paradise performing his mating dance. These birds are endemic only to Wagieo Island and this region.

    Day 8:
    Early the morning, we will go ashore to visit Swing KiraiIsland where you can observe many types of exotic birds.
