MV Emperor Serenity made its maiden cruise to the central atolls in 2016. The 40-meter liveaboard has a 13-meter beam and can comfortably accommodate 26 guests in 13 cabins. It has a spacious layout, built to Western standards of comfort, and is a fantastic addition to the Emperor fleet.
MV Emperor Serenity makes week-long diving cruises along with the central atolls of the Maldives. Enjoy a diving holiday that gives you all you dreamt of from the iconic sites of North Male, South Male, and Ari Atoll. You are about to experience the magnificent channels, drifts, and pinnacles of the Maldives first hand.
Emperor Serenity easily accommodates 26 guests in 13 appointed ensuite cabins spread out over three decks. The upper deck cabins have a double bed and an additional single bed that you might prefer to use as a sofa.
The two cabins on the main deck have double and single beds. The cabins on both these decks have large windows to give you a marvelous view over the Maldives.
Two of the five cabins on the lower deck have double and single beds, and 3 have just a double. These lower deck cabins have portholes to let in some natural light.
All cabins have the same features like en-suite bathrooms, individual air-conditioning, and plenty of storage space.
MV Emperor Serenity is just that, the serene base to catch your breath between dives and take in all the Maldives’ beauty and its marine life.
The living space onboard is a great place to chill out on one of the comfortable sofas in the spacious air-conditioned salon on the main deck where you can relax or watch TV.
Hang out at the bar and share your diving experiences with traveling companions.
The covered and open area on the upper deck is fantastic for soaking up the incredible Maldivian atmosphere during the day. In the evenings, it is perfect for watching the sun go down over the horizon and then gazing at the clear, star-filled sky.
We mustn’t forget to mention the incredible sun deck where you can lie on a sunbed and work on that perfect tan or take a rejuvenating nap before your next dive.
Diving takes stamina, and the best way to keep your energy levels up is with good food. The onboard chef uses delicious, fresh ingredients to provide four buffet-style meals with a mix of delicious Asian and Western cuisine every day. Coffee and tea are available all day.
The perfect entry points for your dive spot every time are from the Emperor Serenity large dhoni tender. During the trip, you can also store all your equipment to have more space onboard for maximum comfort.
Experienced dive guides will show you around the many dive sites the Maldives has to offer. With large pelagic marine life such as sharks, manta rays, and whale sharks, this will be a liveaboard diving cruise of a lifetime.
Serenity is rebreather friendly. You can dive with air, and for certified divers, we offer free Nitrox. Large freshwater buckets are also available to rinse dive equipment such as cameras, dive computers, and fins.
Many of the dives are suitable for all divers levels; however, unpredictable and strong currents can be expected in certain areas. Some dives’ recommended depth is below 18m, and advanced or Deep Diver training is advised.
Non-divers are more than welcome to join the dive safari and get a $50 voucher to spend onboard.

You don’t need a minimum number of dives but you should be comfortable with drift dives, as currents can be unpredictable and strong. If you are an Open Water Diver, some dives are below 18m, therefore, we recommend having advanced experience or taking your PADI Advanced Open Water course on board to maximize your enjoyment from the trip. Inexperienced and beginner divers may find some dives challenging and may be asked by the Cruise Director to skip dives that are not suitable for their diving experience. All diving is made from dhonis to give precise entry and exit points.
Highlights:
All itineraries and dive sites are subject to various unpredictable changes including weather conditions and changes in Maldivian Government approval. Whilst Emperor Maldives make every effort, we cannot guarantee diving at specific sites. In adverse weather conditions, the guides and captain of the boat will have the final decision about which dive sites to visit to ensure that the guests, staff and boat safety is not compromised in any way.
This is the Best of the Maldives – and it delivers precisely that. This is where you dive the best and most famous dive sites of the Maldives in a week of outstanding liveaboard diving across Male and Ari atolls.
Enjoy a dive holiday that gives you all you could wish for from the iconic sites of North Male, South Male, and Ari Atoll. Awaiting you are channels, drifts, and pinnacles where you have every chance of meeting mantas, whale sharks, and mesmerizing marine life of so many varieties. We don’t follow an exact itinerary; flexibility is the word so that no matter what time of the year you visit, this underwater world is yours (and ours) for the exploring.
This itinerary gives you a marine mix of big fish such as shark and manta dives and reef dives, reef fish, morays, and the abundant macro life. Get up close at the cleaning stations without disturbing the locals! One of the best-known dive sites is Maaya Thila; this pinnacle is approximately 30m in diameter and falls away to reveal sharks and fish aplenty.
A night dive from sheltered moorings here is a must! And the boat will also aim to find whale sharks so you can get in the water and snorkel with them…as long as they stay around long enough!
The first and last night of each trip is spent on board at the port.
