Built-in 1999 and just renovated to the newest standards, this steel hull ship with a length of 27 meters has room for 15 diving enthusiasts. Mermaid 1 liveaboard enables individuals and groups to discover the Indonesian greatest scuba diving sites at budget prices without cutting down safety or comfort.

Mermaid i offers trips that vary from 10 to 17 days. Our destinations include Raja Ampat, Banda Sea, Ambon, Alor, Maumere, Komodo, Bali, Halmahera, and Lembeh.

Accommodation

Onboard mv Mermaid 1 we have eight climatized cabins, all with private bathrooms, flat-screen TV, and plenty of storage facilities.

The top-grade master cabin (12sqm) has a king-size bed. The deluxe cabins (10sqm) are located on the main deck and have king-size beds or large twin beds. These and our single cabin (7sqm) feature refrigerators and large windows to enjoy the views of the spectacular seascape.

Belowdecks we have budget cabins (8 sqm) with a single bed and a bed bunk. Provision of bathrobes, toiletries, and soft towels is part of the service for all our guests.

Our dedicated crew of 17 speaks English. It’s their pride and joy to make your liveaboard- and diving experience memorable for life. The well-appointed lounge is situated next to the restaurant on the upper deck with a multimedia entertainment system and an extensive library.

The spacious sundeck is equipped with cushioned sunbeds and an awning for those who enjoy the shade. Several outdoor lounge areas are furnished with comfortable sofas, perfect for après dive relaxation. We recommend treatment from our masseur.

Catering

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks are served as a buffet in the restaurant. Our kitchen will surprise you with delicious and healthy dishes from Indonesian, Thai, and western origins.

You can order beer and wine from the bar (not complimentary). If you have specific dietary requests, please let us know at the time of your booking.

Diving

Mermaid 1 liveaboards provide great safaris for great diving in Komodo, Raja Ampat, Banda Sea, Ambon, Alor, Maumere, Bali, Halmahera, and Lembeh. The choices of diving are endless in Indonesia, with world-class muck diving are adrenaline-seeking drift dives.

Marine life that you can expect to see are manta rays, whale sharks, pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, and several shark species.

The Mermaid 1 liveaboard has a massive dive deck with camera rinse tanks, showers, and a practical camera table. Each diver can choose to dive with either air or nitrox.

Courses are available onboard, and we have a rental service for all diving and snorkeling gear you want to use.

A zodiac will bring you from the dive platform to the site of your choice. Our experienced divemasters will support you in every possible way.

A land excursion in the Komodo national park to the famous Komodo dragons is optional.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Check-in on board MV Mermaid anytime from early morning to our departure time around 16:00 hours. After the boat and safety briefing, we’ll set up equipment, and you can settle into your cabin. Dinner will be served at 19:00 hours as we cruise east to Paular Mas (Serbete).

Day 2-8: The schedule for this region is not as “fixed” as we like to evaluate conditions and divers and what is hot at the moment. The phase of the moon and ensuing currents also factor highly in dive site selection. Lots or little experience, Mermaid Liveaboards will ensure we provide dives to suit all levels and ensure all have a brilliant dive holiday.

Islands and areas, we will be visiting include Serbete, South Adonara, North Adonara, Tanjung Kuli, Pulau Lapang, Pulau Balang, north east Paular, Pulau Ternate in Alor/Pantar Strait, Lewolu (in the Kalabali channel), Beta Island, Pulau Para, Beangabang Bay at Pantar, Pulau ura.

Diving opportunities include sheer dramatic walls, crystal clear reef tops, caverns, deep ledges, black sand, lava flows, and night dive gravel areas that give Lembeh a real run for its money, seamounts, and fringing reefs – a paradise for all divers and well worth adding the Maumere-Alor-Maumere cruise to your list of incredible dive places you must enjoy!

Day 9: Flying tomorrow, then sightseeing for you today! If extending your trip to the Maumere area, we will enjoy some of the great dives this area offers!

Day 10: After breakfast, we transfer you ashore at 8.30 am to continue your vacation. Maumere is only a short flight from Bali.

Marine Life: Soft corals, gorgonians, pygmy seahorses, turtles, Manta Rays, fantastic muck diving, wobbegongs, crocodile-fish, toadfish, dugong, frogfish, and so much more!
