TIGER BLUE INDONESIA; A UNIQUE CONCEPT IN LIVEABOARD TOURISM.

The Tiger Blue Indonesia concept comprises so much more than the average liveaboard. Of course, we provide excellent diving, but our trips are equally enjoyable for families, kids, nature lovers, and water sporting enthusiasts.

We offer the ideal opportunity to spend time together, enjoying all the wonderful Indonesian archipelago delights.

After breakfast, go diving or snorkeling, or visit small islands to explore local nature and culture. After lunch, water ski, wakeboard, fish, dive, hike, or relax till dinnertime.

At sunset, you can sip cocktails, enjoy bonfires on the beach, stargaze under clear skies, or get back in the water for a night-dive.

After a full day, it’s time to retire to your private quarters. MSY Tiger Blue is a 34-meter luxury traditional phinisi that can be booked on an individual cabin basis or as a private charter ideal for groups of friends.

Tiger Blue offers three core itineraries to Komodo national park, the Banda Sea, and Raja Ampat.

Tiger Blue Liveaboard is a beautiful handcrafted wooden vessel custom-built for maximum comfort and designed with families in mind.

Besides the well-appointed salon with multimedia entertainment and library, there are several outdoor and sheltered communal relaxing areas with deck chairs and day beds from where you can enjoy the spectacular views.

Our team of 10 persons will be ready and able to make your trip memorable for life! The cruise master is a polyglot who will speak your language.

Catering

S/Y Tiger Bleu chef and sous-chef prepare an assortment of Asian and western cuisine. Vegetarians and guests with special dietary considerations are accommodated.

Three meals a day are served at our extensive dining table, starting with a sumptuous breakfast. Lunch and dinner are à la carte, offering delectable choices.

All soft drinks and beers are complementary. International spirits, cocktails, and a selection of fine wines can be ordered by the glass or profit from our optional unlimited drinks package.

Diving

Tiger Blue liveaboard itineraries take Indonesia’s complicated monsoon pattern into account. Divers can so enjoy ideal conditions, and dives are rarely canceled.

Our dive deck is at the ship’s stern featuring all modern dive amenities, including free dive equipment and nitrox. Professional guides will accompany all diving and alternative activities.

Located off the northwest tip of Bird’s Head peninsula on the island of New Guinea in Indonesia’s West Papua province, Raja Ampat is an archipelago comprising more than 1,500 small islands, cays, and shoals surrounding the four main islands of Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo. These islands are incredibly remote and almost undisturbed by humans. They are best known for their incredible diversity of marine life with perhaps the world’s richest coral reef ecosystems. They are renowned for excellent diving, snorkeling, kayaking, bird watching, and stunning views.

DAY 1 – SORONG TO PENEMU – Tiger Blue will be moored 30-60 minutes from the airport, making your transfer by car and tender a relatively short journey. Settle in and enjoy your first meal on board. Overnight sail to Penemu.

DAY 2 – SECRET BAY TO WAYAG – Following a gourmet breakfast, head off snorkeling or diving before a leisurely lunch. In the afternoon, take your pick between wakeboarding, waterskiing, kayaking, or relaxing onboard. Then take the tender to visit a secret bay and embark on a short trek on foot, which ends in a blaze of color at sunset. Overnight sail to Wayag.

DAY 3 – WAYAG & BONFIRE ON THE BEACH – Climb the peaks of Wayag to survey the limestone outcrops from above – an iconic vista full of lush greens and turquoises. After lunch, choose between snorkeling, diving, or any other watersports before a cocktail party on the beach beside a roaring bonfire, watching hundreds of stars appear in the night sky.

DAY 4 – KAWE TO ALJUI BAY – Set sail early in the morning to Kawe. Cross the equator underwater while you snorkel or dive surrounded by huge manta rays. After lunch, sail to Aljui Bay, home to the best night-diving in Raja Ampat. Enjoy a relaxed dinner on board.

DAY 5 – PEARL FARM & WOFOH – Learn how cultured pearls are made at the Atlas pearl farm in the morning. After lunch, explore the bay with a boat tour in limestone cliffs, rocks, pinnacles, dolphins, and exotic birds. Snorkeling, diving, and watersports may all the rest of your afternoon, before cocktails and a BBQ on a peaceful beach. Overnight sail to Pulau Pef.

DAY 6 – PULAU PEF – Pulau Pef’s small inlets, bays, and crystal-clear lagoons make the ideal setting for kayaking. Surrounded by giant ancient trees, paddle right up to the mangrove roots reaching into the water. Marvel at pre-historic hand paintings on the limestone cliffs. Snorkel or dive any range of habitats from caverns and overhangs to hard and soft corals, keeping an eye out for pygmy seahorses and the endemic walking shark. After lunch, sail to Yang Efo to dive or snorkel with turtles, stingrays, and schools of snapper and fusilier sh before sailing to Yen Beser overnight.

DAY 7 – YEN BESER – Before dawn breaks, set off on a trek in search of the rare red birds of paradise, which perform an elaborate courtship display as the sun rises. Puf ng up their feathers, vibrating and buzzing, the birds also tip upside down to show off their long tail feathers, which form a heart around them. Then move on to explore the jungle, observing endemic trees and rich fauna. Dive at Meoscon, pause for lunch, then relax on a short sail before snorkeling again with manta rays. Overnight sail to Sorong.

DAY 8 – SORONG – After breakfast, pack and prepare to disembark, returning to the airport by tender and car.

Marine Life: At least 75 percent of all coral species can be found in Raja Ampat. Divers can expect a range of topography from soft corals and sea fans to hard corals, seagrass beds, mangroves, shallow reefs, deep drop-offs, caves, black sand, and white sand. Giant manta rays, sea turtles, sharks, cuttlefish, pipefish, various seahorse species, and massive schools of reef fish are the norm, plus the delightful wobbegong sharks and epaulet sharks inhabit these waters too.

Day 1
Arrive Sorong & board Tiger Blue. The 10-minute taxi drive to harbor & short speedboat ride to Tiger Blue. Lunch & set sail to P Gam. 50 nautical miles. Dinner on the way. Arrive c.10.30 pm & anchor

Day 2
Village & Sawinggrai & search for red birds of Paradise. Early morning wake up 5.30am. Quick coffee & toast. Speedboat ride to village jetty. meet guides & 20-minute hike to display tree. Need to sit quietly & wait. No guarantees. Hopefully, after spotting birds of paradise & watching display, walk back through jungle & the orchid gardens & village. Return to Tiger Blue.

Immediately set sail to Air Borek. 8 nautical miles. View the waters from the bowsprit. Narrow channels through shallow coral reefs. Anchor & get ready to dive or snorkel to see the Manta Rays gathered here over the coral bombes or cleaning stations where wrasses- a type of fish- come out to clean off parasites from the mantas. Return to Tiger Blue after dive & snorkeling & set sail for Pulau Yanggelo. 20 n miles. Tie to the mooring & have the afternoon to snorkel in amongst the beautiful coral gardens & mangrove tree roots on the edge of these mangrove islands. Opportunity to dive to find the woebegone shark found only in this area. Great opportunities for kayaking, water skiing & kneeboarding at this mooring location.

Day 3
Wake & explore the area around Yanggelo. Great birdlife here- cockatoos, hornbills, etc. Opportunity to snorkel & dive again with the mantas or the woebegone sharks. Here the diving is exciting with shoals of barracuda & fusiliers, wonderful large corals. Great beaches to relax on & shallow reefs to explore.
Dinner on board at the mooring & set sail at about 10.30 pm for the Wayag Islands. 53 n miles.

Day 4
Wake early to view the sunrise & approach to the Wayag islands. Extremely picturesque with great scenes of the mountains to the right & the rugged outlines of the islands straight ahead. Tiger Blue maneuvers into the maze of the islands & moors. Breakfast. Opportunities for diving, beach activities & exploration on the speedboat around the maze of islands. Incredible snorkeling on the nearby house reef. Giant scallops, bump heads, reef sharks & a huge range of colorful corals. Lunch. Opportunities for watersports after lunch. The next few days is spent exploring the maze of the Wayag islands & mooring in different locations. These islands are totally unexplored & over a few days, amazing locations, dive sites & snorkeling reefs can be discovered.

Afternoon hike up Mt Pindito. Everyone should do this. Looks terrifying but actually a relatively easy 20-minute climb. Unbelievable views of these extremely beautiful but waterless islands. After climb swims in the cool waters of the gorgeous beach below the pinnacle. Watch the sunset & return to Tiger Blue. A peaceful night on the mooring.

Day 5
Dependent on weather & sea conditions in the next few days Tiger Blue will sail to Pulau Pai for a day trip. Early morning sail -20 n miles- to Pulau Pai for morning snorkel with the Hawksbill turtles on the reef. This is a breeding sanctuary manned with guards who patrol the island & ensure that the breeding beaches are not disturbed. A great opportunity to snorkel & dive with the turtles & see the hatchery beaches. Sail back to Wayag islands over the afternoon. Option to snorkel on the reef in Wayag again. Bonfire & cocktails on the beach.

Day 6
Wayag. Opportunity for a morning hike up Mt Pindito to see the islands in a different light. Further exploration of the islands & lagoons in Wayag. Dive, snorkeling & water sports. Sunset cocktails on the beach. Another opportunity for a bonfire on the beach.

Day 7
Morning Dive or return to the beach for more amazing snorkeling on the house reef. Kayaking & watersport opportunities. Hang out on the beach for the day, continue the exploration of the incredibly dreamlike islands & have evening cocktails & bonfire on the beach. Dinner onboard Tiger Blue. Set sail at c.1am for the 50 n mile sail to Alyui Islands & Jendana Bay Pearl Farm.

Day 8
Wake in beautiful Jendana Bay. Early morning dive or kayak sessions along the cliff face of the islands. Visit the Atlas pearl farm to view the process of pearl farming. Meet Tiger Blue for lunch as it sails out of Jendana Bay & onto Kabui Straits, ‘discovered by Alfred Wallace. Have an evening exploration of the narrow Straits on the speed boat & a wonderful opportunity to drift with the kayak on the current enjoying the evening birdsong & waving at friendly locals as they go by on their anodes.
Overnight anchored at the opening of Kabui Strait.

Day 9
Wake & re-explore the Strait of Kabui. Opportunity for another dive along the cliff walls or kayak further into the bay. Take the speedboat out & explore this tiny strait between the islands of Gam & Waigeo. Late afternoon dive in this strait where there the unusual location makes for unusual corals, wall drift dives & caves. This is a great place to kayak. The scenery is stunning. The speedboat can tow you into the bay which looks like a lake & you can drift with the kayak down the whole length of the strait. Wave at the friendly locals who come by occasionally. Opportunity for waterspouts. Afternoon sails onto Pulau Pef. Anchor, then explore this beautiful mangrove area. Enter lagoons, discover unusual orchids & birdlife. Visit the resort of Raja4divers who rent this small island group. Opportunity for diving here.

Day 10
Wake up in Pef & have the morning to explore the beaches & mangrove mazes on this small group of islands. Great opportunities for snorkeling & diving in the shallows. Mangroves are the ‘baby’ nurseries for sealife so be prepared to see many beautiful stingrays & fish species up close. Great location for kayaking, wonderful birdlife & amazing sunsets here. Packing has to be done this evening. Over dinner, we return to Sorong 50 n miles. Anchor early morning.

Day 11
Early morning expedition to Sorong market- vegetables, fish, spices, a very vibrant & exotic local market where anything local textiles, kitchen utensils & locals can be seen going about their daily purchases. a must-see! Return to Tiger Blue, complete packing, showers & prepare for departure to Sorong airport.

Wake up in Pef & have the morning to explore the beaches & mangrove mazes on this small group of islands. Great opportunities for snorkeling & diving in the shallows. Mangroves are the ‘baby’ nurseries for sealife so be prepared to see many beautiful stingrays & fish species up close. Great location for kayaking, wonderful birdlife & amazing sunsets here. Packing has to be done this evening. Over dinner, we return to Sorong 50 n miles. Anchor early morning.

Day 11
Early morning expedition to Sorong market- vegetables, fish, spices, a very vibrant & exotic local market where anything local textiles, kitchen utensils & locals can be seen going about their daily purchases. a must-see! Return to Tiger Blue, complete packing, showers & prepare for departure to Sorong airport.

Marine Life: At least 75 percent of all coral species can be found in Raja Ampat, divers can expect a range of topography from soft corals and sea fans, to hard corals, seagrass beds, mangroves, shallow reefs, deep drop-offs, caves, black sand, and white sand. Giant manta rays, sea turtles, sharks, cuttlefish, pipefish, various seahorse species and massive schools of reef fish are the norm, plus the delightful wobbegong sharks and epaulet sharks inhabit these waters too.
