Carpe Vita liveaboard, a beautiful 38-meter long Maldives safari dive boat, is an upgraded version of Carpe Diem and the second addition to the Explorer Ventures Fleet took to the water in 2011.
MV Carpe Vita trips depart from Male to fantastic diving locations in the central atolls, including North Male, South Male, and Ari Atoll. Occasionally, the Carpe Vita will take you on an exploration trip to the Northern and Southern Atolls.
The Carpe Vita offers cruises of either 7 or 10 nights with four dives per day, instead of the usual three offered by other liveaboards: the ultimate trip for the super-keen diver.
Ten guest cabins spread over three decks, divided into three categories: 2 VIP suites, two superior, and six standard cabins, cater to a maximum of 20 guests.
The VIP suites on the upper deck have a California-size king-size bed, two wardrobes, a small desk, and a bath.
On the Main Deck are the superior cabins, and they have king-size beds and large windows.
Standard cabins are located on the lower deck and have one queen-size bed and a single bed. The portholes bring in some ambient light.
All cabins are individually air-conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms, an HD entertainment system, and a personal safe.
The main deck features an air-conditioned lounge area with a library, flat-screen TV, DVD/MP3 player, sound system, sitting area, buffet table, and refrigerator.
Outside, sip your afternoon tea and enjoy the stunning view of the Indian Ocean in the shaded area, complete with comfortable cushioned seats. Soak up the sun and get a tan on the luxurious sunbeds on the partly shaded top level sun deck or relax in the Jacuzzi.
The onboard chef and well-trained crew will ensure your liveaboard holiday experience is as near to perfect as possible. The menu consists of Asian and Western cuisine, and the onboard chef prepares the buffet-style meals. Enjoy one or two free glasses of wine or beer with dinner.
Diving takes place from the custom-built 20-meter long Dhoni, a separate dive tender that follows Carpe Vita around the Maldives.
A storage area for your diving equipment is on the main deck, where you also find two freshwater showers to rinse off after each dive.
The dive team brings you around the dive sites in the Central, Northern, or Southern atolls with a wide variety of marine life. Manta cleaning stations all around the Maldives, night diving with a whale shark at the southern parts, or maybe some macro life in the North. You never know what to expect on a Maldives liveaboard vacation.
Carpe Vita offers diving courses such as Nitrox and advanced open water for those who would like to extend their diving skills.

Although the Maldives are known for the stunning beaches and azure waters that typify the tropical idyll, its life beneath the water’s surface is becoming ever more respected by scuba divers in the know. The Maldives islands have some good coral reefs, but it’s the abundance of marine life throughout the country that sets it apart from other dive destinations. The water temperatures remain 27 to 28 degrees Celsius throughout the year.
Additional domestic flights are required (not included in the trip price).
