Blue Manta

BLUE MANTA; GREAT DIVING, GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE.

This recently built liveaboard has a steel hull with a length of 45- and a beam of 9 meters. A great advantage is the optimal stability in any weather condition compared to wooden vessels. It is perfect for blue water crossings in the Indonesian waters. We cruise to all the beautiful diving spots in the archipelago. ACCOMMODATION

We accommodate 18 guests in 14 exquisite and spacious cabins. All have individual air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms and plenty of storage space. On the upper deck, 6 cabins have either a double bed or two single beds. On the main deck, 4 cabins have either two single beds or one single and a double. These cabins can take three guests with charters. On the lower deck are 4 cabins with portholes and two single beds. These are ideal for single travellers.

COMFORT

This ship and her crew are totally dedicated to your convenience and enjoyment. The lounge area on the main deck has large windows, air conditioning, comfortable sofas, a library and large flat screen tv. The sundeck is situated on the upper deck with sunbeds as well as comfortable chairs. Relax in the shade or work on your tan while you enjoy the passing seascapes.

CATERING

Our chefs take pride in their food and will provide 4 meals a day. 2 breakfasts are served before and after the first dive. The first breakfast is light continental, the second is a full English. Lunch is a buffet with choices of Asian and western gastronomy. Afternoon snacks are offered. Dinner is a fine dining experience with either Asian or western dishes. Depending on your preference, meals can be enjoyed in the lounge or outside on the upper deck.

DIVING

Our liveaboard has a special designed dive deck with lots of space for diver and equipment. Fresh water showers and large wash basins are installed to easily rinse your body and gear. We have a camera room next to the dive deck. This is the perfect area to prepare your camera for the next dive. Small groups of 4 are accompanied by a skilled dive guide. He or she will bring you to the diving places with a dinghy and support you in every way to have a fabulous and safe underwater experience.

ITINERARIES

These are example itineraries to give you an indication of the liveaboard cruises. The final cruise might be different due to weather, sea conditions and/or guest experience. The final call is always with the boat manager and the captain of the liveaboard. This to ensure your safety as well as to give you a dive holiday never to forget.

Raja Ampat - Misool
  • Departure Port: Sorong
  • Return Port: Sorong
  • Length: 11 Days / 10 Nights (Approximately 30 dives in total)
  • Experience level: 50 minimum logged dives required.

Day 1:
(0 dives) 5pm. Arrival from Jakarta, Makassar, or Manado to Sorong. On arrival, our staff will meet you at Sorong Airport to assist you and transfer to Blue Manta. Once all guests are onboard you will receive a very warm welcome, briefing, dinner, then we set sail to South Raja Ampat Misool area

Day 2: (4 dives) Daram island area

Day 3: (4 dives) Nudi Rock, Tank Rock, Whale Rock, & night dive

Day 4: (4 dives) Love Portion (seamount), No contest (big fish), & night dive

Day 5: (3 dives) Misool; Boo Corner, The Window, Magic Mountain, sail overnight to North Raja Ampat

Day 6: (4 dives) Yanggefo Island; Mayhem Ridge, Citrus Ridge, Deep rock, & night dive

Day 7: (4 dives) Mansuar Corner, Manta Sandy, Cape Kri, & night dive

Day 8: (4 dives) Blue Magic, Sardine reef, Manta Spa, & night dive

Day 9: (4 dives) Friwinbonda, Mike Point, Mioskon

Day 10: (2 dives) Your choice, and then sail back to Sorong Port. Plenty of time to wash & dry equipment, have lunch, and rest & relaxation.

Day 11: (0 dives) 7am. Check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to airport. Departure from Sorong to Manado/ Makassar/ Jakarta/ Denpasar.

Raja Ampat - Forgotten Islands - Saumlaki

Starting with world best Biodiversity Raja Ampat, tracing the perimeter of I Misool islands. Let our experienced crew show you these remote and almost untouched locations with wonderful reefs and stunning drop-offs. Marine life here is in abundance from the critters, sea snakes, manta rays, hammerhead sharks and much more.

Day 1: Our staff will meet you at Sorong Airport or Saumlaki and take you to the awaiting Blue Manta. Depending on arrival time we can do check dive in Raja Ampat or Saumlaki (1-2 dives), then overnight cruise to Raja Ampat or South Banda sea

Day 2-3: (4 dives each day ) – diving around central Raja Ampat

Day 4-5: (4 dives per day) – Misool Area

Day 6: (4 dives) Koon Island

Day 7: Snake Island (Pulau Manuk) Possible encounter with schooling hammerhead sharks and many Banda sea snakes

Day 8-11: (4 dives) South Banda

Day 12:Check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to airport. Take your pre-booked flight from Sorong or Saumlaki

Saumlaki - Forgotten Islands - Maumere

Day 1:(1-2 dives) Our staff will meet you at Olilit Airport and take you to the awaiting Blue Manta. Depending on arrival time we can do check dive in Saumlaki. Sail overnight to Banda Islands

Day 2 – 7: (3-4 dives per day) Ring of Fire, South Banda, Forgotten Islands, Hammerhead sharks, Sea snake dives.

Day 8: (4 dives) Wetar; excellent wall, pelagic life and fantastic drop-off, sail towards Alor

Day9: (4 dives): Alor; diving around the best sites; Karl’s Dream and Critters diving

Day 10. (4 dives): Pulau Komba. Sail overnight to Maumere.

Day11: (2 dives) from Japanese wreck, Pulau Babi, Pangabatang, The Crack.

Day12: (0 dives) 7 am. Check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to the airport. Take your pre-booked flight to Bali.

Snapper, bumphead, blunthead parrotfish, turtles, sharks, moray eels, dogtooth tuna, fusiliers, jacks, Hammerhead, thresher and silvertip sharks, mobula rays, whales, dolphins and much more.

Maumere - Komodo
  • Departure Port: Maumere
  • Return Port: Labuan Bajo
  • Length: 7 Days / 6 Nights (Approximately 18 dives in total)
  • Experience level: Advanced Open Water – 50 minimum logged dives required.

Day 1: (1-2 dives) 3pm. Our staff will meet you at Labuan Bajo Airport and transfer you to Blue Manta. Depending on arrival time, we do check dive at Bidadari and night dive at Pulau Sebayor.

Day 2: (4 dives) South Komodo; Manta Alley to fly with mantas, Cannibal Rock, Torpedo Alley at Nusa Kode.

Day 3: (3-4 dives) South Komodo, Padar Island; one of our favourite regions in the park with some stunning and diverse dive sites such as 3 Sisters and Pillarsteen. Plus, visit Pink Beach.

Day 4: (4 dives) North Komodo; Golden Passage, Big Nose, Coral Garden at Batu Monco.

Day 5: (4 dives) North Komodo; Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, & Shot Gun at Gili Lawa Laut. Pinnacles drift dives full of action with hunting fish; jacks & sharks!

Day 6: (4 dives) North Komodo; Tatawa Besar & Kecil, Siaba Kecil, & Wainilu. Tons of Anthias, Napoleon wrasse, sharks, & excellent night dive.

Day 7: (4 dives) North Komodo; Batu Balong & Mantas on the Moon (Makassar Reef).

Day 8: (4 dives) North Komodo; highlight dives can be repeated or new sites explored! This followed by a walk on the wide side in search of Komodo Dragons, and trekking on one of the local Islands.

Day 9: (4 dives) North Komodo; dive around the thriving reefs of the active Volcanic Island of Sangeang, at Hot Rocks, Deep Purple, Critter Creek & night dive.

Day 10: (2 dives) Bima bay, world-class muck dives provide the perfect end to the trip. Look out for all manner of critters including mimic octopus!

Day 11: (0 dives) 6am-12pm; check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to the airport in time for Check-in & flight. Take your pre-booked flight from Bima to Bali.

Diving days: 10 days (33 dives)

  • Departure Port: Labuan Bajo

  • Length: 9 Days / 8 Nights (Approximately 26 dives in total)
  • Experience level: Advanced Open Water – 50 minimum logged dives required.

Day 1: (1-2 dives) 3pm. Our staff will meet you at Labuan Bajo Airport and transfer you to Blue Manta. Depending on arrival time, we do check dive at Bidadari and night dive at Pulau Sebayor. Central Komodo (water Temp 26-28 deg). Check dive at Pulau Sabayor Mini Wall, followed by sunset or night dive.

Day 2: (4 dives) South Komodo; Manta Alley to fly with mantas, Cannibal Rock, Torpedo Alley at Nusa Kode.

Day 3: (4 dives) North Komodo; Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, & Shot Gun at Gili Lawa Laut. Pinnacles drift dives full of action with hunting fish; jacks & sharks!

Day 6: (2 dives) North Komodo; Siaba Bay plus Mawan or Pengah. This followed by a walk on the wide side in search of Komodo Dragons, and trekking on one of the local Islands. Then back on board to wash gear, relax as we sail towards Labuan Bajo, where you spend last night on Blue Manta in Bajo Port.

Day 7: (0 dives) 6am-12pm; check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to local hotel or airport in time for Check-in & flight. Take your pre-booked flight from Labuan Bajo to Bali.

Diving days: 6 days (20 dives)

Day 1: (0-1 dives) 5pm.Our staff will meet you at Maumere Airport and transfer you to Black Manta. Depending on arrival time, if time permits, we can do check dive in Maumere Bay.

Day 2: (4 dives) Pulau Komba

Day 3: (4 dives ) 1 full days diving around Alor best sites, Karl’s dream and Critters diving, Sail towards Pulau Wetar

Day 4: (3 dives) Wetar – excellent wall, Pelagic life and fantastic drop-off, sail towards Ring of Fire overnight

Day 5-7: (4 dives) – Ring of Fire, Hammerhead sharks, Sea snake dives.

Day 8: (3 dives) Banda island, Banda Sea. This is the best place to encounter a huge school of fish, reef sharks, and tunas…etc sail towards Ambon

Day 9: (2-3 dives) Critter dives at Ambon Bay

Day 10: (0 dives) 7 am. Check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to the airport. Take your pre-booked flight to Ujung Pandang, Jakarta or Bali. See you again.

Ambon - Banda - Ring of Fire

Day 1. (1-2 dives) Our staff will meet you at Ambon Airport and take you to the awaiting Raja Manta. Depending on arrival time, we can do Check dive plus night dive in Ambon Bay. After critter dive(s) we sail overnight to Banda.

Day 2. (3-4 dives) Nusa Laut dives. Sail to Banda Islands

Day 3-5. (3-4 dives x3 days) diving around Banda Island; Pulau Ai, Batu Kapal, Karang Hatta, Pulau Keraka, Gunung Api; excellent visibility, fantastic coral coverage and tremendous numbers of fish along with potential Hammerhead sightings.

Day 6-9. (3-4 dives x4 days) Ring of Fire, South Banda, & Forgotten Islands diving around Volcanic Islands and stunning seamounts in search of hammerheads & other pelagic superstars.

Day 10. (2 dives) Nusa Laut or Ambon Bay. Sail back to Ambon.

Day 11. (0 dives) 6am-12pm. Check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to airport. Take your pre-booked flight to Ujung Pandang (aka Makassar), Jakarta or Singapore

Day 1: Blue Manta staff will meet you at Sorong Airport and take you to the awaiting Blue Manta. Depending on arrival time we can do check dive in Sorong bay. After check dives, we sail overnight to North Raja Ampat

Day 2-3: (4 dives per day) – Diving around North Raja Ampat

Day 4-5: (3-4 dives per day) – diving around South Misool area (sail to Koon island)

Day 6: (4 dives) – West Seram, Pulau Koon

Day 7-9: (3-4 dives x 3 days) Banda sea diving ( sail overnight to Ambon)

Day 10: 2 final dive in Ambon Bay

Day 11: Check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to Ambon airport. Take your pre-booked flight from Ambon

Marine Life:

At least 75 percent of all coral species can be found in Raja Ampat, divers can expect a range of topography from soft corals and sea fans, to hard corals, seagrass beds, mangroves, shallow reefs, deep drop-offs, caves, black sand and white sand. Giant manta rays, sea turtles, sharks, cuttlefish, pipefish, various seahorse species and massive schools of reef fish are the norm, plus the delightful wobbegong sharks and epaulette sharks inhabit these waters too

Ambon - Forgotten Islands

Marine life here is in abundance from macro critters, sea snakes and schooling fish to the ‘big fish’ favourites such as manta rays, reef sharks and even the chance to encounter Scalloped Hammerheads

Day 1:

(0-2 dives)
2 pm. Our staff will meet you at Pattimura Airport, Ambon, and take you to the waiting Blue Manta. Early arrivals are best so we can make check dive(s) in Ambon Bay before we get underway by 2 pm for an overnight sail.

Day 2 – 14:

(3 dives per day)

  • Diving around Banda Islands with excellent visibility, fantastic coral coverage and tremendous numbers of fish along with potential Hammerhead sightings, plus a visit to one of the Spice Islands.
  • Ring of Fire; diving around Volcanic Islands and stunning seamounts in search of hammerheads, encounter many sea snakes, huge schools of fish, reef sharks, tunas, & other pelagic superstars.
  • Forgotten Islands; Dai & Dawera. Rarely visited, pristine corals, pinnacles, & walls.
  • Dawera Island; easy shallow dives full of life for a great happy ending.

Day 15: (2 dives) Sail back to Ambon.

Day 16: (0 dives) 6am-12pm. Check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to the airport. Take your pre-booked flight to Ujung Pandang (aka Makassar), Jakarta or Singapore

Note: 3 dives are scheduled per diving day*. This is due to deeper dives and long distances covered between islands. Where possible a bonus night dive may be scheduled at the discretion of the Cruise Leader. *Except Trip Departure day & Trip Return day.

Ambon - Banda - Raja Ampat

Day 2: (3 dives) diving around Banda Island; Pulau Ai, Batu Kapal, Karang Hatta, Pulau Keraka.

Day 3-5: (3-4 dives x3 days) Ring Of Fire. Hammerhead sharks hunt!

Day 6: (4 dives) West Seram, Pulau Koon full days diving, then sail for Raja Ampat.

Day 7-9: (2-4 dives x3 days) Misool; South Raja Ampat islands

Day 10: (2 dives) Misool. Plenty of time to wash & dry equipment, have lunch, and rest & relaxation.

Day 11: (0 dives) 6am-12pm. Check out after breakfast, farewells, and transfer to airport. Take your pre-booked flight from Sorong.

Diving days: 10 days (30+ dives)
